Crowne Plaza Knoxville Downtown University by IHG

My sister booked us this room (along with tickets to a show at the Thompson Boiling arena) and we had no idea what to expect. While traffic in Knoxville is on another level (give yourself plenty of time to get there!) The Crowne Plaza was easy enough to find with GPS, and the underground parking was extremely simple to navigate. Upon entering the hotel from the parking deck, you literally walk right up to the check-in desk. The hotel is elegant and the customer service matches the ambiance. The first floor lobby has a really nice bar where people gathered in the evening for cocktails and nibbles. And the second floor restaurant served an excellent breakfast with high-end table service. For breakfast you can either eat from the buffet or order fresh from the menu. Our single queen bed room was also elegant and comfortable, and we enjoyed our stay. It had all the amenities one would expect in a hotel room these days. The bathroom included a beautiful walk-in shower and no bathtub. The best thing in there, to me, was the adjustable lighted makeup mirror attached to the wall. It was a very nice touch. To get to the show, we ordered an Uber. The concierge said it was about a 20-30

We are here for a week stay for my husbands work trip, having 2 boys 3 & 5 years old I was nervous this place would be a little to fancy for their rambunctiousness but all of the staff has been absolutely great! Special shoutout to the best bartender Tony, who became my kids best friend after a few nights of them hanging out down there with us. The food at the restaurant is phenomenal as well. Was also amazing to be able to walk downtown easily and enjoy all the fun things to do!

This is a great hotel option for downtown Knoxville! It’s an easy walk to everything without all crowds and noise. The bed was very comfortable (soft for side sleepers, but firm enough for back sleepers). The bathroom is great for get ladies to get ready as well. The staff were friendly and attentive. We will definitely stay again.

We spent two nights at the Crown Plaza with our children. Absolutely wonderful experience all around. The staff are all delightful and a breath of fresh air in regards to personality, customer service, and helpfulness. The morning staff for breakfast treated our kids like their own and made breakfast an enjoyable experience. The gym is one of the best we've experienced in a hotel. The beds were soft and comforting after a long day! Perfectly located near Market Square, we were able to walk and enjoy the beautiful area! The overall appearance of the hotel reminded me of the classic beauty of hotels in the 90s, adding some nostalgia for us as well. We will recommend the Crown Plaza and we will return!

I would say overall this hotel was pretty good. Upon arrival to the hotel, we were greeted by the friendly valet staff that gave us the option of either valet or self park, which we chose self park, which was conveniently directly in the hotel. The garage was slightly cramped, but honestly that’s how most garages are. We were checked into our rooms, which were fairly spacious, clean, and quiet. In the morning, we went to breakfast at the restaurant in the hotel, which had very good food. I personally had waffles with fruit concentrate and syrup, which were very good.
